hi my name's cassie and I like this book it has a good title that made me want to read it that was good. and besides if it has dog in it I want to read it. read this boo k and and you'll want to read it again
I personally loved this book. The style of writing, however, was a little difficult to follow even for an avid reader such as myself. Murphy's story appears to be set in the early twentieth century and the language is somewhat old-fashioned but there were lots of great anecdotes about other dogs of antiquity and the main story about Murphy was heartwarming. The author manages to give character to Murphy and other dogs which I am sure dog lovers everywhere will appreciate.
This is a story of real team work. Each party is sensitive to the other's need, and pleased to serve those needs. A very enjoyable and inspiring read.
Both enjoyed and was saddened. Such is life and death and the living between. But for most of it, enjoyed.
I loved this little book and especially Murphy. The philosophy shown about dogs in those days seem more progressive than now. Murphy was a multi-dimensional being, not just a dog!
Basically a parable...old fashioned, and if you are an animal lover, it preaches to the choir. That being said, it was a beautifully written in the Victorian style.
The novel was very entertaining and well written. Plenty of info about all the characters. It did jump around a bit and was written in the "Old English" language which took getting use to. Once I understood what was being said I found the book to well above average. The ending was very special.
